Earning The Push is a weekly show for wrestling fans to do the two things they love - talk about the business, and about what they would do if they were in charge. Broadcaster Jack Murley and professional rugby player Charlie Beckett will be analysing what’s happening across the wrestling world, and getting you involved with the fantasy booking of angles from the past, present and future. It’s a show that’s open to everyone - and we want you to get involved. TWITTER: @charlie_beckett @jack_murley EMAIL: earningthepushpodcast@hotmail.com

Sometimes, the news from the wrestling world means we're not able to do our usual light, frothy podcast.
Today is one of those days.
So on this episode, we pay tribute to the late, great 'Bad Guy' Scott Hall, and honour what the man went to the professional wrestling business with a look at some of his most memorable in the industry. We also talk about Big E's broken neck and wish him well on his recovery - and in lighter news, we chat about why Pete Dunne is now Butch, if Cody Rhodes is ever going to appear in WWE, and why Thunder Rosa is the right choice to carry the AEW Women's Division forward.

A week is a long time in wrestling.
But even so - what a week!
In the past seven days, AEW has put on an excellent Revolution pay-per-view, announced the signings of Jeff Hardy and William Regal - and acquired Ring of Honour. And over in WWE, RK-Bro have won the Raw Tag Team Championship, Cesaro has departed the company - and then there's the small matter of Stone Cold Steve Austin answering Kevin Owens' challenge for Wrestlemania.
So, it's a jam-packed show today, with all of that and more - and we think you'll love it!

Episode 44: Edge turns heel, AEW Revolution is almost here and more
Friday Mar 04, 2022
Friday Mar 04, 2022
It seems like wrestling at the moment is full of more questions than answers.
Could Vince McMahon - a man in remarkable shape, but still in his mid-70s! - really plan on stepping back into the ring?
Why did Edge turn heel to set up his match with AJ Styles at Wrestlemania?
How good does AEW Revolution look, and does Hangman Adam Page come out of the show with the World Championship on his shoulder?
We get into all of that and more on this week's podcast - which also includes Bianca-Becky chat, why Roman-Brock could have lost just a little bit of steam, and how Charlie is getting on with his new puppy!

Episode 43: Elimination Chamber reaction, that MJF promo and more
Friday Feb 25, 2022
Friday Feb 25, 2022
Whisper it quietly, but WWE's Elimination Chamber was arguably the best event the company has ever staged in Saudi Arabia.
Brock Lesnar walked out as WWE Champion, Becky Lynch walked out as Raw Women's Champion after besting Lita, and Madcap Moss was lucky to walk out at all after taking an horrific bump that had everyone wincing. And with WWE now on the road to Wrestlemania, AEW is off on its path to AEW Revolution - with Moxley-Danielson and Jericho-Kingston both signed for the company's pay-per-view at the start of March.
We get into all of that on this week's show, including using concussions to sell angles, that MJF promo, Rousey's return so far, why the Stone Cold hype has gone quiet, Dragon's Den and so much more!

We've always said anything can happen in wrestling, and this week has summed it up.
Cody Rhodes is no longer with AEW, having parted ways with the company he helped to found - with all the rumour and speculation suggesting that he is WWE-bound.
And as if that wasn't bonkers enough, Stone Cold Steve Austin could be on his way back to WWE for his first match in nearly two decades, with rumours circling that he could be teed up to face Kevin Owens at Wrestlemania.
So, absolutely loads to get into in a jam-packed episode, that also includes the final week of build to Elimination Chamber, the card for Revolution coming together, fantasy booking, a big butter debate and more!

Tony Khan promised a big announcement for Dynamite - and boy, did he deliver.
AEW became limitless, as former NXT Champion Keith Lee made his debut on a night that also saw Jay White walk through the Forbidden Door on an episode of Dynamite that, main-evented by a bloody World Title Texas Death Match, many are lauding as one of the best-ever.
Meanwhile, WWE confirmed two matches that nobody was clamouring for, with Reigns-Goldberg set for Elimination Chamber and Flair-Rousey pencilled in for Wrestlemania - so with all of that going on, it's been a massively busy week for professional wrestling!
We talk about all of that and more, including how AEW has become the most buzzworthy company in wrestling, the brilliant build to Lynch-Lita, roundabouts, Reacher and more!

Episode 40: Royal Rumble reaction, Punk-MJF deliver in Chicago and more!
Friday Feb 04, 2022
Friday Feb 04, 2022
Buckle up, everyone!
The road to Wrestlemania is underway, after WWE presented the Royal Rumble live from St Louis this Saturday – and there are plenty of talking points for us to get into after a ‘premium live event’ that delighted in many ways, but also left a lot to be desired.
Brock losing the WWE Championship but winning the Rumble; Ronda Rousey returning to book herself a main event slot at Wrestlemania; the moments that over-delivered and underwhelmed – we break it all down in today’s show.
We also talk about why the Elimination Chamber is arguably shaping up better than any Saudi event thus far; look at another classic Dynamite main-event, as CM Punk and MJF tear it up in Chicago; preview next week’s Texas Death Match between Lance Archer and Hangman Adam Page – and so, so much more!

It's almost here.
The excitement, the elimination, the shocks, the surprises, the entrants, the stakes - there's nothing quite like the Royal Rumble to get you excited about professional wrestling!
WWE has done a great job of building this year's card, with two much anticipated title matches alongside the two Rumble matches - so there's plenty for us to get into on this one, including who should be the last competitor standing in each match, surprise returns and more.
Over in AEW, we saw a debut at the end of Beach Break - but it was Danhausen, not Johnny Gargano! - as well as a classic ladder match between Cody Rhodes and Sammy Guevara to crown an undisputed TNT Champion, and an MJF-CM Punk segment to set them up for their much-anticipated clash in Chicago next week.
So overall, a blinking busy show this week with loads to discuss - along with blood blisters, parking apps and loads more!

What's in a name, right?
WALTER is no more, as WWE rebrand one of NXT2.0's top talents as Gunther - and get the wrestling world talking for all the wrong reasons.
In AEW, it's a tale of two promos - as Jon Moxley gives us a feel-good moment with his return after three months away, and Cody gives his most impassioned, heelish and arguably controversial promo in months.
And on Smackdown, there's bad blood brewing between Lita and Charlotte Flair, as WWE continues with the build to the Royal Rumble - and announces the return of the Elimination Chamber for its next big event in Saudi Arabia.
We get into all of that on this episode, as well as whether we're souring on the Punk-MJF feud, more Rumble fantasy booking - and the joys of one of the UK's one-way systems!

It's a match that many have dreamed about for years - and at the Royal Rumble, it's on.
Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley will square off in St Louis for the WWE Championship, as Seth Rollins heads to Smackdown to take on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at the same event. In AEW, Lance Archer returned to lay claim to the number one contendorship to Hangman Adam Page's AEW Championship - while Impact Wrestling generated some positive buzz to kick off 2022 with its Hard To Kill event.
So, plenty to talk about on this episode - including blurring the lines of the brand-split already, protecting Hook, Britt Baker and Adam Cole together on-screen, pre-announcing Rumble entrants, Queer Eye and more.
