Friday night comes pretty close to capturing why we all love wrestling.
Brilliant matches, nuanced storylines, hot crowds and competition between two leading companies - it really doesn't get any better!
We discuss the head-to-head between Smackdown and Rampage, and why there was something to love for everyone - and how WWE can extend the Reigns-Lesnar feud beyond Crown Jewel. Plus why the top of the card in AEW is looking so stacked, the seeming end of gimmick PPVs, 'One Night, Two Big Wrestling Moments' and so much more!

Episode 25: Edge and Seth inside the Cell, Hangman Page returns, NXT 2.0 and more
Thursday Oct 14, 2021
Thursday Oct 14, 2021
On paper, it's a classic.
A Hell in a Cell match between Edge and Seth Rollins should have wrestling fans salivating - so why can't we get properly excited about it?
Probably because it's taking place at Crown Jewel and, as we discus at length during this episode, the whole event just isn't getting fans excited in the way you'd think this card might.
Also on the agenda - NXT 2.0, the return of Adam Page in AEW, some more brilliant booking suggestions on breaking up The New Day (including one Charlie really doesn't like!) and a top brainteaser for the next couple of weeks as well.

Episode 24: The WWE Draft, promos that are ‘too real‘, and breaking up The New Day
Thursday Oct 07, 2021
Thursday Oct 07, 2021
So the picks have been made, and some pretty big names have switched between Raw and Smackdown - but does it really matter?
As the WWE Draft finishes for another year, we look at whether it's as significant a moment as it used to be, and what needs to happen to make the whole concept feel more impactful. We also look at when promos become too real, why Cody hasn't turned yet, major events that might be UK-bound and more.
Plus we start to fantasy-book the end of The New Day, and talk IKEA, the start of autumn, radiator smells and so much more.

Episode 23: Omega and Danielson deliver a classic, what‘s up with the Demon and more
Thursday Sep 30, 2021
Thursday Sep 30, 2021
This week's episode can almost be defined as a tale of two finishes.
At AEW Grand Slam, Omega and Danielson delivered an all-time classic, which ended in a draw. And at WWE Extreme Rules, Finn Balor and Roman Reigns polarised opinion with an unusual finish to their Universal Title match.
We dissect both shows, plus look at the start of Big E's WWE Championship reign, why Keith Lee is now a 'Bearcat', more best and worst gimmick matches - plus slow-cookers, BBC1 dramas and more!

Well, we picked a hell of a week to do a recorded show!
But the flip side of being off last week is that this is a bumper show with LOADS to talk about. Big E is WWE Champion; Goldie is back with Ciampa in NXT 2.0; Reigns vs Lesnar is set for Crown Jewel, once we get Extreme Rules out of the way; and AEW is taking over New York for Grand Slam.
So, all of that to talk about in this episode - as well as the best and worst of gimmick matches, and rewriting a classic Attitude Era entrance theme!

Episode 21: A Tribute to NXT
Thursday Sep 16, 2021
Thursday Sep 16, 2021
The best matches. The most intricate storytelling. The hottest crowds.
For years, NXT was a special part of WWE where things were done differently... and arguably, better as well. So, as NXT 2.0 hits the air, Jack and Charlie pay a special tribute to the ol' yellow and black brand, and what it meant to the industry before WWE hit the revamp button.
From the women's revolution to shaking up the genre, we look at how NXT genuinely changed the game, and what its legacy will be.

Episode 20: Danielson and Cole to AEW, All Out reaction and more
Wednesday Sep 08, 2021
Wednesday Sep 08, 2021
So, it happened.
After months of speculation, AEW ended a pay-per-view for the ages in Chicago with the debuts of both Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson at the conclusion of All Out. Throw in CM Punk's first match in seven years, the addition of Ruby Soho to the women's division, an epic cage match between the Young Bucks and Lucha Bros - and it really was a night for the ages.
So, plenty for Jack and Charlie to get into in a stellar episode of the podcast - which also features more Wrestlemania fantasy booking, Sir Tom Jones and the divas, and an oddly relaxing video of Brock Lesnar and a pig!

It's a massive weekend for AEW, with CM Punk's in-ring return just a matter of days away.
Factor in the beginning of the build to Lesnar-Reigns, the start of the NXT rebrand and a new Smackdown guilty pleasure, and there's plenty to keep Jack and Charlie busy during this week's episode. They get into all of this, as well as the first set of your fantasy Wrestlemania booking - including whether The Grandest Event in sports-entertainment could ever have been held in the ECW Arena?!

Has there ever been a bigger three days in wrestling?
On Friday, CM Punk ended his exile from professional wrestling with a return for the ages on AEW Rampage. On Saturday, WWE pulled out all the stops with Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch coming back at Summerslam - and then on Sunday, NXT delivered with yet another classic Takeover.
Jack and Charlie get into all of this on another bumper episode of the show. From the perfection of Punk's return to Reigns vs Cena delivering on the hype, to whether this weekend was a game-changer in the industry, there's so much to get into on the show. Plus more fantasy booking chat about Wrestlemania, and why poorly-made slippers are heading back to developmental.

Has there been a bigger weekend in wrestling than the one we're heading into?
By Sunday night, we could have seen the AEW debut of CM Punk, a clash of the titans between Reigns and Cena at Summerslam, one of the best Takeovers ever - and that's without factoring in any potential surprises that might be coming our way.
So, Jack and Charlie are like kids at Christmas for this week's show, looking ahead to a weekend that has the potential to be truly, truly extraordinary. From how Punk could or should debut to the final push to an epic Summerslam main-event, this is a cracker of a show. Plus why Stone Cold Steve Austin is wrestling's best interviewer, a glow-up for one member of the WWE universe - and an epic fantasy booking challenge for next week.
